What is Alzheimer's and Dementia?

According to the Alzheimer's Association, currently 50 million people are living with Alzheimer's and other dementias.  Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative brain disease and the most common form of dementia. Dementia is not a specific disease. It's an overall term that describes a group of symptoms.

 What is Dementia?

Dementia is an overall term for diseases and conditions characterized by a decline in memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking skills that affect a person's ability to perform everyday activities. Memory loss is an example. Alzheimer's is the most common cause of dementia.

Symptoms of dementia (Can Vary Greatly)

Several types of dementias are progressive, meaning the symptoms start out slowly and gradually get worse over time. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory difficulties or other changes in thinking skills, don't ignore them. Symptoms can range
